HEIGHTEN YOUR AWARENESS
FOREST BATH SHINRIN YOKU
BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS
“When you bring your attention to a stone, a tree or an animal, something of its essence transmits itself to you. You can sense how still it is and in doing so the same stillness rises within you. You can sense how deeply it rests in being, completely one with what it is and where it is, in realising this, you too come to a place or rest deep within yourself.” - Eckhart Tolle.
WHAT IS FOREST BATHING?
The practice of Forest Bathing began in Japan in the 1980’s as a result of increased incidence in stress related diseases attributed to the ‘Tech Boom’. Studies have demonstrated a wide array of benefits including: mood stabilization, anxiety reduction, and cardiovascular and immune support.
On a forest therapy walk, we are often reminded that we are a part of nature, not separate from it and we are related to all other beings in profound ways. In this way that we join the forest in the orchestration of our own healing. Our forest therapy walks combine current research with ancient practices in the field of nature connection, mindfulness, and holistic wellness.
Forest bathing is a critical element to the Wim Hof workshops that Amy provides, setting the mood and intention for the session and allowing our nervous systems to rebalance before the science and physical practices begin. Explore a private corner of Kangaroo Island not opened to the public, slow your pace, quieten your thoughts and allow nature to nurture your physical being.
